1. Start with your current list
Bring in your existing spreadsheet. Name, SKU, quantity and location are enough to start. Import your material list instead of rebuilding the catalog by hand.
2. Create your real locations
Use the locations your crew already understands: Main Yard, Warehouse, Van 1, Job 104, Basement, Floor 3 or Container A.
3. Label what people need to scan
Use manufacturer barcodes when they exist. For bins, shelves and job boxes, create QR labels. For rugged equipment, use proper QR code asset tags.
4. Scan materials in and out
Your phone becomes the scanner. Crew members can scan materials from a phone to add stock, move it, reduce a quantity or check an item out.
5. Watch low stock by location
A van can be low even when the warehouse is full. Set low-stock alerts by item and location.
